Weekly meetings
We meet Tuesday evenings from 7 to 8 at the Philadelphia United Methodist Church (on Hwy 160,
Baxter Village area).
Our troop has a 12‐month meeting schedule. Please don’t let that scare you. Our scouts have busy
schedules so they attend meetings when they are free. Many of the boys are in marching band or play a
sport, so it natural and expected that they will have seasonal attendance gaps. Once their other
extracurriculars is over, they return and everyone gets caught up.
Now, a first year scouts should plan to attend most of the weekly meetings. There are many skills that
they will need to learn. We have skill instruction scheduled into every meeting
Uniforms: A Sign of Belonging
Uniforms are an important element in the methods of Scouting. We encourage all Scouts to obtain a
Scout uniform and wear it at all Troop and Patrol activities.
In Troop 832, all scouts must dress in a Class A uniform for troop meetings which include boards of
review, court of honors, flag ceremonies, and outing which do not require physical outdoor activity. A
Class A uniform, consisting of an official Scouts BSA uniform shirt, pants, belt, and socks.
The Class A uniform can be purchased at the Carolina Scout Shop on Westinghouse Blvd in Charlotte.
During physically active outdoor events and informal activities, Scouts may wear a Class B uniform.
The Class B uniform consists of a Troop 832 t‐shirt along with appropriate shorts or pants and
footwear. A Class B uniform would also be designated for monthly camping activities, summer camp,
summertime meetings, and certain service projects.
The troop supplies Class B T‐shirts. Please contact the scoutmaster or committee chair to purchase one.
